Privacy policy
AdSteward is a service of MoventiQ B.V., established in the Netherlands(Chamber of Commerce registration pending, VAT registration pending, address to follow). This policy explains what personal data we process when you use AdSteward, why, for how long, and what your rights are. Questions go to support@adsteward.eu.
1. What AdSteward is
AdSteward helps online shops run their Google Ads advertising. A merchant connects their Google Ads account and their web shop; AdSteward reads campaign performance and shop data, proposes changes, and makes those changes in Google Ads when the merchant accepts them or has asked AdSteward to act on their behalf.
2. Our two roles
For the data of the people who use the AdSteward dashboard (your name, email address, password, sign-in activity) we are the controller. For the data of your shop's customers that reaches us through your web shop or your Google Ads account (orders, order emails, click ids) we are your processor: we process it only to provide the service to you and on your instructions, under the data processing agreement that is part of our terms.
3. What we process, and why
| Data | Where it comes from | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Your name, email address, password (hashed), organisation, role | You, at sign-up or by invitation | Your account and access to your organisation |
| Google Ads account data: campaigns, ads, keywords, budgets, bids, performance metrics, search terms, audience lists, conversion settings | Google Ads, through the access you grant | Showing performance, proposing and making changes, monitoring whether ads serve |
| Merchant Center product data and product issues | Google Merchant Center and your shop | Product feeds and product-level advertising decisions |
| Shop data: products, prices, stock, cost prices, categories, reviews | Your shop, through the AdSteward plugin you install | Product feeds, margin-aware recommendations |
| Order data: order id, date, status, items, amounts, the customer's email address, the advertising click id and the customer's cookie-consent status | Your shop, through the plugin | Attributing sales to campaigns and products; only with consent, adding the email to a Google Customer Match audience (as a hash) |
| Search results and keyword data for your market | DataForSEO, on our request | Keyword volumes and competitor listings; not personal data |
| Chat messages you write to the AdSteward assistant, and the data it is shown | You and the data above | Answering your questions and proposing changes |
| Technical logs: request times, errors, the API calls we make on your behalf and their cost | Our systems | Running, securing and billing the service |
4. Google user data
When you connect Google Ads, you grant AdSteward access under the scopes Google Ads and Data Manager. We use that access only to read and change the Google Ads accounts you choose in the connect flow and to upload Customer Match audiences to them. We do not sell this data, do not use it for advertising of our own, and do not let humans read it except to support you at your request, to comply with the law, or to keep the service secure. You can revoke the access at any time in your Google account settings; AdSteward then stops reading and changing anything.
AdSteward's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. Customer Match
If you import a customer list or allow consented order emails to be used, AdSteward sends the email addresses to Google as SHA-256 hashes so Google can show your ads to those customers. You declare, before every upload, that you have the consent needed to do so. Google keeps a member for at most 540 days. A customer you remove is suppressed permanently on our side so a later order cannot re-add them.
6. Who else sees data (sub-processors)
| Provider | What for | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Database, authentication, file storage | European Union |
| Google (Google Ads, Merchant Center, Data Manager) | The advertising platform itself | Google's terms apply |
| Anthropic | The AI models behind the assistant, copy suggestions and analysis | Requests contain the data needed for the task; not used to train models |
| DataForSEO | Keyword volumes and search-result data | Receives keywords and markets, no personal data |
| Resend | Sending email (confirmations, digests, alerts) | European Union sending region |
| Our hosting provider | Running the application | European Union |
7. How long we keep data
- Account data: as long as your organisation has an account, then deleted within 30 days of closure.
- Google Ads clicks and search terms: 90 days.
- Orders and product data: as long as the shop is connected; you can disconnect a store at any time.
- Customer Match member hashes: as long as the list exists; removals are kept as suppressions.
- Performance history and the record of changes AdSteward made: for the life of the account, because undoing a change needs its history.
- Technical logs and API usage records: 13 months.
8. Cookies
The dashboard uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to remember choices such as the selected store. The plugin on your shop stores an advertising click id in a cookie on your visitors' browsers only after they have accepted marketing cookies in your shop's consent banner; without that acceptance nothing is stored.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens). Write to support@adsteward.eu; we answer within a month. For your shop's customers, the request goes to you as controller and we help you fulfil it.
10. Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, access is limited to the people and systems that need it, Google credentials are stored as refresh tokens that can be revoked, and every change AdSteward makes in Google Ads is recorded and reversible.
11. Changes
We update this policy when the service changes. The date at the top tells you when; material changes are announced in the dashboard.
